hmm any good ideas for a Non-Character Game?
I know its getting abstract but just a brainstorm:
Tolkien Novels (LOTR, TH, etc)
Middle Earth Languages
Races (Elves, Men etc)

Um.....
How about plants? Not sure if there'd be enough, but... athelas; pipeweed; elanor and so on. I think there might be
Or favourite scenes from the books
Or artifacts not covered in the jewellery and weapons games - like Galadriel's mirror, wizards' staffs, Palantiri, Thorin's harp
Or on a non-Tolkien note, do the rest of you watch Dr Who? Plenty of scope there for games....

I like the ideas
I think we can find enough plants for a game. Other plants could be the White Tree, Party Tree.. are Ents considered plants?
Favourite scenes could be an interesting one if we do a qualifying round.
Sorry I dont watch Dr Who, but then again, I havent read CoH either. But I love the Sherlock series with Martin Freeman That'd be an awesome one.

Well,
plants sounds fine to me.
I haven't see Dr. Who but would be willing to learn about it.

Here you are, then...
House of Finwë
Aegnor
Amras
Amrod
Angrod
Aredhel
Argon [son of Turgon]
Arwen Undómiel
Caranthir
Celebrían
Celegorm
Celembrimbor
Curufin
Earendil
Elladan
Elrohir
Elrond
Elros
Fëanor
Finarfin
Findis
Finduilas
Fingolfin
Fingon
Finrod
Finwë
Galadriel
Gil-galad
Idril Celebrindal
Irimë [daughter of Finwë]
Maedhros
Maeglin
Maglor
Orodreth
Turgon
I left out the descendants of Elros because they're men, also the spouses (except those who descended from Finwë). Here are the rest of the spouses if you want them - I thought the list was getting a bit long.
Anairë [Fingolfin]
Aragorn [Arwen]
Celborn [Galadriel]
Eärwen [Finarfin]
Edhellos [Angrod]
Elenwë [Turgon]
Elwing [Earendil]
Eöl [Aredhel]
Indis [Finwë]
Míriel Serindë [Finwë]
Nerdanel [Fëanor]
Tuor [Idril]
And be warned, my favourite ever Tolkien character is somewhere on the first list...

'Cept I'm not sure if Sherlock has enough regular characters. Or maybe I just don't know it so well

OK
You have favourite elements? Crumbs, what it is to be a scientist!
I'm happy to play anything - Dr Who, favourite scenes, favourite books would be things I know about, but I don't mind playing things I don't know about

The IS game
Very simple
Player 1 posts the beginning of a sentence, which must end with 'is'. For example...
Standing on one leg is. . . .
Next player completes the sentence (lots of creative possibilities here ), then starts another....
. . . very hard to do in fast-running water.
Eating beans on toast is. . . .
and so on! The only rule is that the starter sentences must end with 'is'
